Our School Council

Pupil voice is at the heart of Haverfordwest High VC School and the School Council is an important aspect of school life.

It consists of representatives from all year groups and provides a way for all students to give their valued opinions to the school.

It teaches students about democracy and how to bring about change by using their voice in a constructive manner.  The aim of the School Council is to teach our students that working together in a productive way helps shape the community to which they belong.  It promotes collective action, strengthens team work, encourages debate and teaches the valuable lesson of compromise.

Membership of the School Council is a democratic process. Following the election of class representatives, representatives for the School Council are chosen. The pupils meet on a regular basis to discuss issues which affect school life.  These issues are ones that the School Council feel are important for the school or topics that other pupils or staff have brought to the members.  Mr Gethin Greves, Learning Manager of Health and Wellbeing, is the lead member of staff who helps organise our council.

You will be able to find updates relating to school council business on this page following each meeting.
